2025 Glorify Dance Theatre Preparatory Company Summer Dance Intensive

We’re excited for the third year of our week long summer ballet intensive for dancers ages 10-22! The theme of our intensive this summer is Faith In Action. Dancers will receive pre-professional training in classes that not only challenge their technical skills, but also provide insight into how a jeté can glorify Jesus.
The 2025 GDT PrepCo summer ballet intensive will be held June 16th-20th at Time To Leap Dance Center in West Chester, PA from 9:30am-3:30pm. On Friday, the 20th, there will be a black box style performance for parents from 3:15pm-3:45pm. This gives the dancers the opportunity to use what they learned over the week and inspire others in their faith through the medium of dance. Attendees should have a minimum of 3 consecutive years of training in ballet since the age of 7. Those dancers desiring to participate in pointe class should have at least 1 year of training en pointe. Throughout the week, there will be daily technique classes in ballet. There will also be time spent learning choreography and devotions to encourage dancers in their faith, as well as technique classes in jazz, contemporary, modern, and improv.
During this training program, dancers will study:

- Progressing Ballet Technique
- Modern
- Jazz
- Contemporary
- Choreography (both GDT Repertoire and new works)

Pre-Requisites
Dancer must be 10 years old and no older than 22 by the start date of the intensive without special permission.
Attendees must have had classical ballet training of at least 3 years. There is also a minimum of 1 year en pointe for dancers taking pointe class.
Be prepared to submit a recent headshot and a picture of the dancer in 1st arabesque (either flat on en pointe).
Cost
$300 Tuition – Early Bird Discounted Rate – January 20-March 31
$325 Tuition – Regular Tuition Rate – April 1-June 1
Attire
Monday-Thursday
Ballet:
Females | Any color leotard, pink or black convertible tights, pink ballet shoes and pointe shoes (if dancer dances en pointe). Hair should be neatly off the face in a bun or french twist; jewelry should be minimal with nothing dangling or prone to falling off during movement.
Males | Solid color t-shirt, black leggings or black bike shorts, and black or white ballet shoes with matching socks.
Other Styles:
Females | Any color leotard, leggings or ballet skirt or bike shorts (tights must be worn under shorts), jazz shoes, bare feet.
Males | Solid color t-shirt, athletic pants, jazz shoes, bare feet.
Friday
Females | Solid black leotard, pink tights, black ballet skirt, pink ballet shoes.
Males | White t-shirt, black leggings, black or white ballet shoes with matching socks.
Each day dancers should bring
- Exercise ball and yoga mat
- The ball should be big enough so when the dancer sits on it with their feet together, his/her thighs are parallel to the floor.
- Water bottle
- Lunch and snacks (please keep it peanut free!)
- Bible and notebook
- This intensive is open to dancers from any faith background. Because we are a Christian organization, we will be spending time reading the Bible and talking about how it integrates into life as a dancer throughout the course of the week.
- Any warm-up attire desired to wear between classes.

Q. What is the Preparatory Company?
A. Glorify Dance Theatre – Preparatory Company (GDT PrepCo) runs occasionally throughout the year as a performance company to train dancers pre-professionally in ballet performance.
Q. Do I have to be a member of the PrepCo to participate in the summer intensive?
A. No! The intensive is open to all advanced-beginner through pre-professional level dancers age 11-22!
Q. What do I do if I want to join the PrepCo during the year?
A. We do not have information about the PrepCo for 2025-2026, but dancers who attend the summer intensive who are interested in joining in the future should contact gdtprepco@glorifyperformingarts.com for more information.
Q. If I’m age 18+ and am looking to become an Trainee with Glorify Dance Theatre, how do I audition for that?
A. You can use your attendance at the summer intensive as an audition for a trainee position in GDT. Fill out the registration form below, and then contact mmendoza@glorifyperformingarts.org to notify her of your interest. After which we will send more info about joining our trainee company.

Please Note: There is no audition to attend our intensive. But, before registering your dancer, please make sure they are between the ages of 10-22 and have at least 3 consecutive years of ballet training since age 7. Dancers will also need a recent headshot (does not have to be professional) and a photo in 1st arabesque either flat or en pointe.
