Business Manager
Reports to: Director of Engagement
Effective Date: ASAP
Status: Independent Contractor (self-employed); 3 hours per week (approx.)
Job Title: Business Manager
Job Description: The Business Manager is an integral role at Glorify Performing Arts, responsible for our company’s financial operations, human resources and business strategies. Working under the Executive Director and Director of Engagement, the Business Manger should be organized, methodical, and able to think outside the box. Most importantly the Business Manager should feel confident they can uphold GPA’s Foundational Four (Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Core Values, Statement of Faith).
Location: West Chester, PA, USA/Remote
Time commitment: 2-3 hours/week (predominantly remote, some paperwork will be in person in West Chester, PA)
Compensation: $20.00/hour
Status: Independent Contractor (self-employed)
Preferred start: September 18, 2023 or sooner
Contract term: Ongoing with potential to increase hours in the future

Responsibilities:
Financial
Maintain general ledger activity i.e. bank reconciliation statements, cash flow statements, books and financial records, company Balance Sheet and P&L statement
Oversee petty cash and credit card activity
Coordinate the preparation of the annual review or audit and Form 990 tax returns in conjunction with an independent CPA firm
Prepare monthly financial reports; send bi-monthly reports to the board of directors, and revise financial reports as needed for grant proposals
Compare and report on budget vs. actual income/expenditure
Create excellent internal controls and financial procedures ensuring legal and regulatory compliance with GAAP
Design and implement business strategies and financial plans
Meet as needed with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and/or Director of Engagement to create an annual operating budget
Human Resources
Maintain employee records and personnel reports in conjunction with Director of Engagement
Process payroll (2-5x/month)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent work experience
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency in Quickbooks
Working knowledge of Google Workspace
Strong/good communication skills
Ability to work well under tight deadlines
Ability to affirm and uphold GPA’s Foundational Four: Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Core Values, Statement of Faith
Background in nonprofit business operations a plus
