Auditioning for Glorify Dance Theatre
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Glorify Dance Theatre! We are GDT, a professional Christian contemporary ballet company based in West Chester, PA. Currently, we are seeking a diverse group of ballet dancers who are passionate about using their artistry to glorify Jesus. Below, you will find all the information you need regarding our professional company auditions.
NEW for the 2026-2027 Season: Audition at Project Dance! We will be at their events in Jackson, MS, Houston, TX, and NYC and will be holding auditions for company/trainee positions during the event.
Jackson, MS: Once registered for Project Dance Jackson, you need to sign up for the Glorify Dance Theatre Repertory Class & Audition in the 2:30PM-3:50PM time slot, then indicate at the end of the Project Dance class sign up form that you wish to use the class as an audition.
We will release more information soon about how to audition at the other events.
We accept audition submissions from December 1st to March 10th for the performance season that begins the following September. Subsequently, applicants who successfully pass the initial audition screening will receive an invitation to an in-person audition on March 24, 2026. However, we consider applications submitted after March 10th on a rolling basis. Ultimately, the Artistic Director, in consultation with an audition panel, makes all casting decisions. These decisions are influenced by the number of open positions each season and the artistic vision for the works being created. Currently, we only open auditions to dancers who are authorized to work in the United States.
GDT Company Artists are categorized into four ranks: Soloist, Corps de Ballet, Apprentice, and Trainee (information about our Trainee program is available here).
All applicants must demonstrate strong classical ballet training and feel confident performing classical, contemporary, and neoclassical ballet choreography. Moreover, Company Artists, regardless of rank, should be actively invested in their faith in Christ Jesus, spending time personally and in community with believers to grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord.
We make Soloist positions available to dancers who have graduated from a college or trainee program, possess several years of professional performing experience, and perform at a highly advanced level of ballet. In addition, Corps de Ballet members must have some professional performing experience or have graduated from a college or trainee program. Furthermore, they should be highly trained and continually strive for excellence in ballet technique.
Contracts span from September to May and encompass approximately 30 weeks of rehearsals and performances.
Finally, dancers cast as Soloists and Corps de Ballet members must be over 18 and will receive a bi-weekly stipend, along with a small pointe shoe stipend. If cast as an Apprentice, the Company Artist will receive a small pointe shoe stipend, but the position is otherwise unpaid.
Audition Requirements
To apply for a Company Artist position, please prepare the materials listed below. After you have prepared these materials, please submit them to us. Upon receipt of all your application materials, GDT will review your submission. Subsequently, GDT will notify you of any available positions for which we are considering you. Finally, if we select you for further consideration, we will invite you to an in-person audition on March 24.
All materials, including the audition fee, must be received by March 10th for consideration as a company artist for the 2026-2027 season. Incomplete audition inquiries will not be considered for company positions.

Instructions for audition video: At the barre, include excerpts of plié, dégagé, fondu, ronds de jambe, grand battement. In the center, demonstrate an adagio, pirouette combination(s) rotating en dehors and en dedans, petit allegro, and grand allegro. All center work should be en pointe. Then, include a performance of a contemporary ballet piece of choreography. (Please clearly indicate which dancer you are if it is a group piece.) Post your video on an online platform (YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, etc.) to share with us.
