Chesed (Hebrew: חסד, pronounced: heh-said) is a one-act, abstract ballet by Glorify Dance Theatre that explores how God extends loyal-love to humanity and invites us to respond by showing kindness to each other. Extending kindness makes us vulnerable to rejection, and the ballet shows how misconstruing kindness as weakness leads us to be ruthless and isolated. But it also shows how God’s “chesed” endures forever and is expressed as mercy when God forgives our unkindness, continues to love us faithfully, and creates a way for us to love each other.
