Preparatory Company

Glorify Dance Theatre – Preparatory Company is a pre-professional training company for dancers who are looking to advance their ballet performance and technique skills in a Christian environment. As they prepare for their performance, students will have the opportunity to work with GPA’s highly qualified dance educators who are passionate about excellence in ballet and faith in Jesus.

We are excited to have our PrepCo join Glorify Dance Theatre in our TBA MainStage performance May 3-4, 2024! Throughout the course of 4 studio rehearsals, 1 tech and 1 dress rehearsal at the theatre, and 3 performances, PrepCo dancers will learn and perform an original ballet with Glorify Dance Theatre. Dancers will have individualized attention in their company rehearsals, as well as get to work alongside our professional dancers during tech rehearsals and performances. For aspiring ballet dancers who also want to grow in their faith, performing with GDT’s Preparatory Company gives young dancers a taste of how their skills in dance can be used to honor the Lord.

Auditions will be from 2-3pm (Ages 6-9) and 3-4pm (10-12) on Sunday, February 25, 2024. More info below.
In studio rehearsals will be held at Time To Leap from 2pm-3:15pm on April 7, 14 & 21 and from 2-5pm on April 28.
Rehearsals at the theatre (The Christian Academy) will be held on May 1-2 (time TBA) and performances will be on May 3 & 4.
There is a $10 registration fee (waived if dancer registers by January 31) and if cast in the ballet, the cost is $125 per dancer.
For the ballet, dancers will be split into two groups (Age 6-9 + 10-12) and each group will perform in two or more scenes in the ballet.
Previous training in ballet is required, however performance experience is not necessary.

Date: Sunday, February 26th, 2024
Location: Time To Leap
Time, Ages 6-9: 2pm-3pm
Time, Ages 10-12: 3pm-4pm
Attire: Leotard and tights with ballet shoes and hair in a bun. No skirts are permitted for auditions.

Registration open until February 25th.

The audition will consist of a short ballet class followed by learning a portion of choreography from the ballet. We are looking for dancers who are focused, have a good understanding of beginner-intermediate ballet movement (appropriate for their age) and pick up choreography quickly.
